2018
THE BEGINNING
Creativity With Intention — And Proof It Worked.
Tag It Brand It launched in 2018 as a creative design company — founded by Tre'elle Tolbert following her service in the United States Navy. The agency's first major project was a music event she co-produced with her husband: a first-of-its-kind event for their region, featuring live musicians and merchandise, that drew over 300 attendees. Tre'elle handled all creative direction — the graphics, the website, and the marketing. The event sold out. The energy in the room was undeniable. And when it was over, people kept asking who had created the brand identity. Those questions became the business. TIBI was founded on the proof that purposeful creative work moves people — before the agency had a name for why.
2018-2022
The Design Years

In the early years, TIBI operated as a solo creative design practice — delivering logos, websites, and brand visuals for entrepreneurs and small businesses. The work was strong. Clients returned. But a persistent question emerged: what happens after the flyer? After the logo? After the website launches? Design alone was not the complete answer. The creative outputs were landing — but they were not always connecting the way they needed to. That question drove Tre'elle back into the classroom. She enrolled in a Master's program in Digital Marketing, and everything she thought she knew about creative work expanded into something far more rigorous.

The Master's in Digital Marketing gave language to the feeling that had been driving the agency's evolution. Consumer psychology. Content architecture. Campaign logic. SEO. Brand positioning theory. Design without strategy is decoration — and Tre'elle could not unknow it. Every client project started looking different through this lens. Every deliverable had a question behind it: what is this built to do, and does it have what it needs to do that? TIBI began expanding its service offering and its thinking. The agency was no longer a design company. It was becoming something more.

When businesses were forced to move online in 2020, a gap in the market became undeniable. Many businesses had built their customer base through local presence, word of mouth, and grassroots marketing — but lacked the digital infrastructure to sustain themselves in an online-first environment. TIBI shifted accordingly. Aesthetics alone were no longer the offer. Strategy, digital presence, and brand architecture became the foundation of every engagement. The agency stopped delivering creative outputs and started delivering brand systems — work designed to perform, not just to exist.

As a Navy Interior Communications Electrician, Tre'elle had spent years maintaining IC switchboards — the systems that route communication signals throughout a ship. Every circuit had to carry current. Every phase had to be verified before the next could be activated. That systems discipline never left her. The convergence of military engineering, academic strategy, and years of creative practice produced the Brand Engineering System™ — TIBI's proprietary three-phase methodology. Voltage Check. Tre'elle Tolbert is the founder and lead Brand Engineer at Tag It Brand It. Her professional background spans military service, graduate academia, and a decade of brand strategy and creative direction for founders and growing businesses. Her work as a Navy Interior Communications Electrician — maintaining the switchboard systems that route communication throughout a vessel — formed the systems-thinking framework that underpins the Brand Engineering System. Her graduate work in Digital Marketing gave that framework strategic depth. Her ongoing doctoral research in Strategic Media at Liberty University is building the academic foundation that validates the BES™ as a communication methodology with measurable outcomes. She created the BES because she lived the problem it solves. As a solopreneur designing brands with creativity and no strategy, she felt the ceiling. Going back to school cracked the work wide open. The BES is the integration of everything she learned — military precision, academic rigor, and years of hands-on creative practice — built into a system that any serious founder can move through. The goal was never to build the biggest agency. It was to build the most rigorous one and then make that rigor accessible to founders who deserve better than beautiful work that doesn't perform.
